A Season of Giving

Hello Subaru of Temecula hosted its first ‘Hello Gives Thanks’ turkey drive. A collaboration between Hello Subaru and two local non-profit organizations, Safe Family Justice Center and the Veterans Village of San Diego. Hello Subaru gave over 200 meals to domestic violence victims, veterans, and their families. This initiative aimed to provide them with everything they needed this Thanksgiving to enjoy a homemade meal with their loved ones and create special memories together. On the event day, families lined up in their cars outside the dealership, where the Hello team gave groceries to over 50 families from the Safe Family Justice Center in Temecula. This organization helps individuals by providing advocacy and support services to those who have experienced domestic violence. The next day, the Hello Subaru team visited the Veterans Village of San Diego facility, and Ralph Ford, the executive chef, greeted them. Ralph gave the Hello team a tour of the kitchen facilities. He talked about the work VVSD does every year and how they help thousands of veterans reclaim their lives through programs that offer transitional and permanent housing, mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and employment training services. The Hello team and the kitchen staff began to unload over 100 turkeys and hams. The VVSD will use the turkeys and hams to feed our heroes on Thanksgiving Day and freeze the remaining meat for their Christmas meals. Places like VVSD rely on food donations to provide for our veterans. Continuing their outreach, the team headed to Escondido, distributing 52 Thanksgiving meals to apartments designated for veterans and their families. Understanding the significance of this support, larger families received two kits to ensure there was plenty of food, also received turkeys weighing over 20 pounds. Ralph Ford shared his perspective on the impact of these initiatives, especially for homeless veterans who visit their facilities and have not experienced a traditional Thanksgiving meal in years. He expressed the joy of witnessing the glow on their faces, knowing they had something special for the holidays. This Thanksgiving drive was not just about distributing meals; it was about building connections, fostering hope, and creating memories for those who need it most. Hello Subaru was proud to be able to impact the lives of over 375 people in their communities.
