The significantly refreshed 2026 Subaru Solterra is available now at
Hello Subaru of Temecula,
Subaru’s original all-electric SUV — now with meaningfully more range,
more power, and faster charging than the model it replaces. Explore our

This is a substantial update, not a cosmetic refresh. A larger 74.4 kWh
battery lifts EPA-estimated range by roughly 25%, up to 288
miles on Premium and Limited trims. Base output climbs from
215 hp to 233 hp, and two new XT trims add a
more powerful dual-motor setup making 338 hp. The
charge port switches to NACS, opening up direct access
to the Tesla Supercharger network, and charging speed jumps from 100 kW
to 150 kW. Inside, a new 14-inch touchscreen replaces the old 8.0- and
12.3-inch units, and the exterior gets a redesigned front end with new
LED headlights.
The 2026 Solterra lineup spans five trims across two power levels:

The new XT trims are the quickest Solterra yet — Car and Driver
clocked a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds, down from 6.1 seconds on the
outgoing model. Every Solterra uses a NACS charge port
with 150 kW DC fast-charging capability, good for a 10%-to-80% charge
in about 28-30 minutes, and a new battery preconditioning system helps
maintain charging speed in cold weather. Ground clearance is 8.3
inches — best in its class — though the Solterra isn’t rated for
towing; its available hitch receiver is intended for accessories like
bike racks, not trailers.
Every 2026 Solterra comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight Driver
Assist Technology, including adaptive cruise control, lane-centering
assist, and forward automatic emergency braking. It’s worth noting
honestly: this redesign changed the Solterra’s IIHS results. Prior
model years earned TOP SAFETY PICK+, but the redesigned 2026 model
earned Acceptable ratings (the second-highest tier) in the small
overlap and moderate overlap front crash tests, a Good rating in the
side-impact test, and a Poor rating for headlight performance — so it
did not requalify for a Top Safety Pick award this year. IIHS notes
